is an urban designer, teacher, writer and Principal of Greenberg Consultants. For over four decades he has played a pivotal role on public and private assignments in urban settings throughout North America and Europe, focusing on the rejuvenation of downtowns, waterfronts, regional growth management and new community planning. He will be speaking to us about his current major Toronto projects including The Bentway and Project Sidewalk.

GUEST SPEAKER: CHANNON OYENIRAN
is Vice President of the Ontario Black History Society. OBHS was established 40 years ago to preserve and promote the contributions of Black peoples in Ontario and Canada at large. It provides research materials for professional development, exhibits and Black History presentations to promote the understanding of Black heritage in Ontario. Ms. Oyeniran will be speaking about Black women in Canadian history.

is an Executive Coordinator at Second Harvest. She will tell us more about this organization and its role in food rescue in Canada. She will outline where the food comes from, where it goes and how it is distributed to many social service agencies. She will advise us on how everyone can prevent food waste in this time of so much food insecurity.

GUEST SPEAKER: FRANK COBURN
is a member of the Community Harm Reduction Response Team at Street Health. Street Health provides an essential service to those in downtown Toronto who are homeless or under-housed. Programs are aimed at improving the health and well being of clients – nursing, community health/mental health, harm reduction, and identification clinics. Street Health also does important advocacy work. Frank will draw from personal experience to illustrate the value and importance of harm reduction.

GUEST SPEAKER: Ann Birch - Author, Historian
TOPIC: Challenges in Researching Historical Fiction.
Ann has a passionate interest in early Upper Canada and has written several novels set in the 1800s. She teaches writing and is a free lance editor. Ann also lectures about Toronto's early history and conducts tours of some the city's historic houses.

GUEST SPEAKER: Barbara Dickson - Author, Historian
TOPIC: Bomb Girls
Barbara will share information from her book which is a dramatic, personal and detailed account of what occurred at Canada's largest fuse-filling munitions factory situated in Scarborough during WWII. Over 21,000 brave men and women risked their lives each day handling high explosives in a dedicated effort to win the war. Barbara was a consultant on the television show about Canada's Bomb Girls.
