December 5, 2013 - Gala Luncheon

It was wonderful to see everyone in their festive holiday outfits. We made the National Club shine while we enjoyed the Christmas luncheon. Christine Bentley, our guest speaker, proved to be a delightful "Storyteller". The celebration ended with our new tradition of a guest singer much to the delight of all.

December 7, 2013 - Niagara-on-the-Lake Holiday House Tour

Cold winds and snow did not stop our merry group from viewing several of the homes on the tour. The lunch at the Oban Inn was excellent and then we were free to continue the tour or shop. Several of the shoppers also enjoyed a mini wine tasting.

June 19, 2013 - Big Band Legends

Our Big Band Legends Tour was a perfect start to the summer. After a quick shopping spree on St. Jacob's King Street we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Benjamin's Inn, a renovated 1856 Stage Coach Inn. Then back on the bus to Cambridge to see the show which was amazing and had us wanting to dance in the aisles. The new Dunfield Theatre is very attractive with excellent seating, do try and see a production there next year.

May 15, 2013 - Spring Luncheon

The Spring Luncheon and AGM were held at the Old Mill Inn and once again the weather was perfect. Our guest speaker, Sally Armstrong, was absolutely riveting. She talked about the struggle for women's rights in zones of conflict around the world and read us passages from her new book. Ascent of Woman: Our Turn, Our Way: A Remarkable Story of World-Wide Change is a book that should be read by every woman. Make sure you do.

Our guest speaker, Michael Redhill, talked about the process of writing a novel. He then revealed that he is the mystery author, Inger Ash Wolfe, and read the first chapter of The Calling. We were delighted to be told that The Calling is soon to be produced as a movie in Canada.
